Simple Holiday Craft Ideas

It is the Holiday season and your kids are itching to get to crafting. Whether it be Thanksgiving, Christmas or what have you. Here are some of the easiest crafts that you can do with your small children.

The Simple Hand Turkey

It could not be an easier project and it is one that we have all done, the Hand Turkey. Simply have your child place their hand on a piece of construction paper and trace around it with a pen. They can then decorate it as a turkey. Draw legs, a bike a waddle, etc. Let them use their creativity to make it super unique. The greatest thing is that you probably have everything that you need for this project in your home. You just need paper and some markers.

Get Creative With Candy Canes

Candy canes can become a number of things. They can be the ears on a reindeer ornament, they can be the arms of a snowman, they can be the tail of a mouse or cot or a dog, glue two together to make a heart, etc, etc. All it takes is some creativity and some craft paper and glue. Add a metal ornament hanger and you have a custom ornament that your kids will love seeing on the tree.

Decorate Plain Ornament

Get some cheap plastic ball ornaments, some glue, glitter and perhaps some paint pens. Let your kids make a pattern with the glue and sprinkle glitter on the balls and then draw whatever they like on them with paint pens. It will give them a fun project that you can remember for years to come. Be sure to write the year and the kids initials on them so that you can remember the moment.
Another great idea for ball ornaments is to make handprints on them. Let your kiddo place their hand on paint and then wrap it around the ball ornament. You then have a nice custom ornament that is uniquely your child’s. Leave it as is or decorate the fingers as people or snowmen.

Fun With Toilet Paper Rolls

Make all kinds of holiday items with paper rolls. Paint them white and decorate them as snowmen. Draw buttons on them or glue real buttons on them. Add some ribbon and anything else you think might make your snowman a snowman. Finish it off with a ribbon on the top to hang your child’s work of art from the tree.
The same concept above can be used to make just about anything that you like. Make a Santa, some angels, etc, etc. The possibilities are limitless.

Popsicle Stick Trees

Simply paint some popsicle sticks and glue them into a triangle to make a Christmas tree. Add an additional stick as the stem and you have your base ornament. Now decorate the tree with anything that you can find. Glitter, paint, ribbon, whatever your kiddo likes. Hopefully you have a box of miscellaneous items (buttons, beads, ribbon, charms) that you can use to decorate. If not, today is a good time to start making one.

These are just a few simple ideas that you might try to liven up the Holiday season. There are literally hundreds of different things that you can do. In addition, you could always just throw a bunch of materials on the table and let your kids go to town making whatever they like that is Holiday themed. You might be surprised by the imagination they show.

Start A Craft Business With A Small Loan

Looking to start a small crafting business like me? Are you short of funds to do so? No problem, you can actually start a small business very easily with a small loan and a pre-order. Here is what I mean.

First, you need to determine your crating specialty. After that, you need to come up with a small sample using whatever means necessary. Then you can list your product for sale on websites like Fiverr, a sales marketplace. Be specific about what you offer and set a good price where you can make money. Set your time of delivery such that you will have time to gather supplies and still deliver the product on time

Next, you need to make a list of the supplies that you need and where you can get them quickly, locally. When you have this list, you will be able to spring into action when you get your first order.

When you do get your first order, you can get a quick cash loan like this Chicago payday loan from Itchy Pet Loans. This type of loan can get you up to $1000 as soon as the next business day. Wait until you get your first order to take out the loan though, so you can pay it back quickly. Once you have your money, you can simply go buy all of the supplies that you need that same day and get to work.

Once you have all of the supplies and equipment that you need, complete the order and ship it off. Take the money that you make from the order and pay back your cash loan and you are now in business. You will probably not make money on your first order but you will now have all of the tools that you need to carry on with your business and make money int he future. Be sure to deliver your order on time and to the best of your ability. Small businesses like craft ones depend on good reviews to attract new traffic.

So you see, it is still possible to start a small business like crafting with limited capital. Here are some extra tips to get your business going strong. Promotion and advertising is the key and here are some of the best places to go.

Pinterest: You absolutely must open up a pinterest account and take pictures of your crafts. The more creative and adventurous the better. People will see your pictures when they do searches and share it with others. You can then send them to your website with links from the photos. Don’t have a website? No problem.

Check out WordPress. Just do a quick search. There you can get a free, yes free website. You will have a subdomain of the wordpress website, not your own URL but that doesn’t matter. Putting together the website is super easy.

An alternative to making a WordPress website is Facebook. You should do Facebook anyway so even if you make a website, you need a facebook page. Just like with pinterest, people will see your crafts and share them with friends. This is how you go viral.

Besides the above, you should always be looking at places to post pictures of your products. Stay active on the internet and you will stay active in business.
